Destoners use a vibrating fluidized bed to separate granular material into two fractions  according to specific weight. They are primarily used for the elimination of heavy impurities, such as stones, twigs, metallic particles etc., from the product (i.e., coffee, beans, corn, nuts, grain).

A Destoner is tilted on one axis and produces a two-way separation between heavy and light product.

With the help of a reciprocating motion screen and a fluidized air bed, heavy impurities move up and the lighter product moves down in the opposite direction, thus separating them efficiently.
