Belt Conveyors
Belt conveyors that are used to transport agricultural products typically have belts that are flat, “V” or “U” shaped. They can move product long distances at high speeds. Belt conveyors do not break up products like other conveyors but are not good for heavy or abrasive products.
Belt conveyors are typically horizontal but can be inclined up to 40 degrees depending on the product. Their belts can be smooth or rough surfaced and with cleats. Often they are covered to protect the product from the environment.
They are relatively inexpensive to purchase compared to other types of conveyors, but they are expensive to maintain because you must replace the entire belt.
